Martin Terrier is training in pre-season with Leverkusen after joining from Rennes this summer.
French forward Martin Terrier has spoken to Kicker about his first impressions of Leverkusen and his first week of training with the club following his summer move from Rennes for a fee believed to be in the region of €20m.
Terrier said of his first impressions of the club: ‘I was quite surprised by the intensity of the training, the facilities and the infrastructure to train at the highest level.’
The 27-year-old forward then explained the motivation behind his move to the BayArena, saying: ‘It was an easy decision. It was a great opportunity for me to take on a new challenge, a new league, a new culture. Joining a team that won the Double last season was an important step in my career. ‘
Terrier also spoke about his goals for Leverkusen this season: ‘Of course we want to defend our title and play well in the Champions League. I am ready to give everything to adapt to the team as quickly as possible. I am at the best age for a footballer and I want to share my experience. Of course I want to help with goals. ‘
