The football world is in mourning as former Liverpool captain Ron Yates, who won two Division One titles with the club, has died at the age of 86.

The former Scotland international captain captained Liverpool to Division Two glory in 1962. And the club have never been relegated since.
Yates and his team-mates then won the English top flight in 1964 and 1966 under the legendary manager Bill Shankly.
‘There’s a team there for the taking, especially for attacking players, if you’re on that pitch you’re thinking, “I’ve got chances here to go and score a ทางเข้า ufabet goal”.’
A quieter second period saw England take their foot off the accelerator. Almost allowing their long-time rivals back into the game. While a string of substitutions stunted the free-flowing nature of the first 45 minutes. But the Three Lions held on to kick off the post-Gareth Southgate era with a well-earned victory.
The build-up to the clash had been dominated. By bitter differences in opinion over the new boss’s decision not to sing God Save the King.
He was also the club’s first captain to win the FA Cup when the Reds lifted the trophy in 1965.
Yates captained the Reds for eight seasons, making 448 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists.
He left Liverpool in 1971 but returned to the club as chief scout in 1986, a position he held until 2006.
Yates was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in January. The club recently announced on their website that “Liverpool are deeply saddened. By the passing of legendary captain Ron Yates.”
“Everyone at Liverpool Football Club would like to extend their thoughts to Ron’s wife Ann, his family and friends at this sad time.”
